Saleyards (Southern Rural Livestock Exchange)
Southern Regional Livestock Exchange in Moss Vale, one of the top ten cattle saleyards in New South Wales, sells cattle every Wednesday from 8 am, with sales priced either by cents per kilo or, for cows with calves at foot, by dollars per head. Wingecarribee Shire Council runs the facility at no cost to local ratepayers, and the site traces its roots to 1876, when the owner of the Moss Vale Hotel built a set of saleyards just north of the hotel.
