Shibijia Auction Co. sells fine art through its auction arm, alongside gallery exhibitions, stationery and cultural products, and education, with a notable sideline in aged sauce-aroma baijiu. The house, founded in 1920 in Chengdu and named after a Han-era anecdote about a scholar's two maidservants quoting the Book of Odes, traces its roots to a 1920 origin and lists calligraphy and painting among its artworks. Its auction listings include works by contemporary Chinese painters and calligraphers, and its history is tied to visiting masters such as Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian and Qi Baishi during the war years.
